Swāmi Muktānanda
Swami Muktananda was a prominent spiritual teacher and the founder of the Siddha Yoga movement. His teachings emphasized meditation, self-realization, and the awakening of Kundalini energy through the grace of a spiritual master. Born in 1908 in India, he spent years as a wandering monk before meeting his guru, Bhagavān Nityānanda, who initiated him into the path of Siddha Yoga. After attaining enlightenment, Swami Muktananda embarked on a mission to share his guru’s teachings with the world. After Bhagavan Nityananda’s passing, Muktananda established the Siddha Yoga path. He set up an ashram in Ganeshpuri, which became a center of spiritual learning and transformation.

Bhagavān Nityānand
Bhagavan Nityananda of Ganeshpuri was a revered Indian saint and yogi, he was considered an avdhut known for his profound spiritual wisdom, miracles, and silent teachings. Though he spoke little, his presence alone was said to be transformative, uplifting the lives of countless devotees. His life remains an enigma, filled with mystical experiences, acts of compassion, and a deep connection to the divine. It is believed that he was found as an abandoned infant and adopted by a couple named Unni Amma and Chathu Nair, who raised him in a small village in Kerala.
As a young man, Bhagavan Nityananda left home and embarked on a spiritual journey across India. He traveled to the Himalayas, Bengal, and other regions, spending time in deep meditation and austerities. Many believe he attained Ātma jnān (self-realization) during this period. He also visited several sacred sites, including Varanasi, Rishikesh, and the caves of the Himalayas, absorbing spiritual wisdom from the environment and, possibly, enlightened masters.
Bhagavan Nityananda's teachings were unique in that he did not lecture or write extensively. Instead, his teachings were transmitted through silence, gestures, and occasional cryptic statements. Despite this, his philosophy revolved around key spiritual principles like unconditional love and Service, surrender to the divine & the bond of guru-disciple.
